Rene Marie Russo is an American film actress and former supermodel. Known for her elegant beauty her endurance in the demanding film industry shows her talents and abilities as performer. The model began her modeling career in the 70s. She soon became one of the most sought-after models. She was a theatre and acting student towards the beginning of the decade. She then appeared on stage in Los Angeles, and other areas of California. In 1987, Russo was the lead character Eden Kendell on ABC's show Sable. Two years later she played Tom Berengers love interest in her debut film Major League. At first, she was skeptical about her capabilities in the field of acting, public was enticed by her stamina. She was praised for her performance of Wolfgang Petersen's Outbreak, where she competed with Dustin Hoffman and Morgan Freeman. She claims that she was never a fan for acting. In 2005, she decided to take a long, self-imposed break. For the film Thor, she returned to acting. In addition, she was in Nightcrawler which her husband was awarded an Oscar for. Rose Namajunas was one of UFC's top female athletes. She started her career as an amateur fighter competing in various regional promotions before registering to Invicta Fighting Championships and later joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). After joining the UFC the fighter has quickly been a household name thanks her achievements both in and out of the Octagon. Namajunas is the name of a Lithuanian born American born June 29th 1993 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. While growing up, Rose was involved in athletics like basketball as well as kickboxing. Invicta Fighting Championships signed her at age 18 and she went on to beat two opponents via submission. Dana White noticed this and on December 14, 2014, at age 22, she signed up to compete as a strawweight with UFC. Her career has had both lows and highs and she's in a position to emerge from the fight in the top position. Rose took on Carla Esparza on April 15, 2015, for the Women s Strawweight Championship. Rose beat Esparza with a technical knockout in just under 3 minutes Round One. Rose not only took home the title but she was also recognized as Fighter Of The Night. Rose has also created MMA historical with her fight as she became the first woman to compete in a title fight at any organization of note. After this win, Namajunas continued to win more successful fights including defeating Joanna Jedrzejczyk twice which earned her Performance Of The Night honors from UFC following these victories .
